LCS Parents,

Linden Community Schools uses the SchoolMessenger system to deliver our robocalls and blast emails. We are now adding the SchoolMessenger text message service to facilitate and increase our modes of communication. This one-way texting service will allow LCS to deliver important information about events, school closings, safety alerts and more, via text, straight to your mobile phone.

If you want to participate in this free service, just send a text message of "Y" or "Yes" to our school district's short code number, 67587.

You can also opt out of these messages at any time by simply replying to one of our messages with "Stop".

SchoolMessenger is compliant with the Student Privacy Pledge, so you can rest assured that your information is safe and will never be given or sold to anyone.

The parent’s/guardian’s mobile phone number that is associated with your student are eligible to receive this service. You can make changes to your mobile phone number through ParentVue.

Please contact your student's building if you have any questions.

Naming of Linden Middle School Gymnasium

A request has been made to Linden Community Schools for naming the Linden Middle School Gymnasium. According to Board Policy 7250, Naming of Schools and School Facilities, the Board recognizes the prominence and permanence of a school or school facility in the community and the importance of establishing appropriate selection criteria and procedures that ensure students, staff, parents, and community participation is part of the process in selecting a name.

In establishing criteria, the Board shall consider consistency with other school names at the elementary, middle, or high school level, as appropriate. The Board shall refrain from naming schools or facilities after individuals who are living or recently deceased. The Board shall consider the names of deceased persons who are clearly identifiable and widely recognized as having made outstanding contributions to the community, state, nation or world. The Board shall also consider the geographical location of the school or facility, the proximity of the school or facility to recognize features of the area, valued concepts or principles and relevant historical events.
If you would like to submit a suggestion for naming the Linden Middle School Gymnasium, please complete the information on the link above by February 10, 2020. All submitted suggestions will be reviewed by the Naming Schools and School Facilities Committee. A recommendation, from the committee, will be made to the Board for consideration.
