Skittles Challenge with Mrs. Howard!
Multiplication of fractions never tasted so sweet!
Students were given a cup of skittles & asked to determine the fraction for each color of the rainbow. Then they were asked to think about 20 skittles with a series of questions that challenged the students to use their knowledge of multiplying fractions.

Congratulations to our Central Elementary Lego Team #56928 on their outstanding job this weekend at the First Lego League State Championships! Team 56928 performed well in each of the 3 parts of the competition. Their robot scored 260 points, earning them 14th in the Robot Task portion of the competition. We are super proud of hard work all of our students, coaches and parents have put into making this a successful fall Lego season! We'd also like to thank Coach Brown for bringing this club back to Central this fall and finding a way to involve the 30 students that came excited for the chance to build, program and learn.

Tomorrow night, Dec 7th, at Central Elementary our PALS organization is putting on the 5th Annual Creative Christmas Extravaganza from 5:30pm to 7pm. We hope to see you there .

Mrs. Sulick led Mrs. Perkins', Mr. Sinn's and Mrs. O'Dell's class in reading and analyzing the story "Stone Soup". Each student brought in a small amount of an ingredient to add to the soup and they shared in eating it as a closing activity. Their veggie intake for the week may have doubled today and it was delicous learning!

Get your tickets now for the Linden Faculty Follies!
Show is Thursday, December 1, 2022 @ 6:30 pm

Mrs. Perkins invited Mrs. O’Dell’s class to join them in making Buffalo skins to retell a story as a cumulative activity about Native Americans.

After reading and writing about different occupations, Mrs. O’Dell’s class had the opportunity to see a favorite community service job: firefighter! Thank you Captain Haiser!

October's Principal Challenge was a spooky success. There were so many fun stories that our students wrote. The finalists were stories titled The Green Goblin (where a student was scared by a variety of things that turned out to be nothing until the Green Goblin appeared), No Sleeping in School (Where the mean Principal was eaten by a monster after not allowing students to sleep in school) and The Haunted House (Where a couple of adventurous kids were caught by their parents checking out a spooky abandoned house.) Great work by all our future authors!

Congratulation Charli for being the Central Elementary student of the month! Mr. Sinn and Mrs. Perkins had some great things to say about how this rock star leads her classmates with a kind heart and humble demeanor. Great job Charli!
